General Education Diploma

Congratulations on your decision to pursue a GED! (Secondary School Equivalency Diploma.) Returning to school is a big step!  We assist adults in working through the programme as independently as possible and yet have available as much assistance as you need. It is suggested that you see a tutor twice per week for one hour (minimum)  so that you have support to complete the GED in a timely fashion. Having you work independently as much as you wish also allows you flexibility in your learning and saves you money on tutoring.

We first complete an assessment to determine your learning strengths and the academic background that you bring to the GED preparation. The assessment is completed at the offices in Owen Sound. We would then meet with you for a consultation to share assessment information and the plan that we are going to follow in assisting you. We would then assign a tutor to you and begin the GED preparation.

Costs involved are as follows:

• Initial GED Assessment: $195.00 *

• GED book: 25.00

• Tutor: $35.00 per hour **

Exam registration through the Independent Learning Centre, Ministry of Education: $100.00 (payable to them by VISA or money order) This fee is subject to change as per Ministry notice.
